Album Review: Disclosure - Caracal

After the success of their debut album, Disclosure return with their new album and it is even better than the first album. Last year they wrote and produced some tracks for Mary J Blige; their collaborations with other artists continues on the new album. Of course there is the single, Omen, which features the vocals of Sam Smith but also appearing on the album are The Weekend, Gregory Porter and Lorde amongst others.

The garage/house music influence is still present but the British duo do have such a distinctive sound. Their tracks have a way of working their way into your subconscious and you find yourself humming their melodies. This is something that they are very good at writing: great melodies.

Highlights on the album include the first track on the album, Nocturnal which features vocals from The Weekend, Good Intentions where vocalist Miguel sings a sublime track that even has a Steely Dan influence. Things get even better on Superego where vocalist Nad sings one of the best tracks on the album, I'm sure this will be a future single.

The duo provide their own vocals on the new single, Jaded which will become a big hit. I'm sure that there will be various mixes of the single forthcoming but why when the original is as good as this?

A superb album that gets even better the more you hear it.

Surely a BRIT nomination is now due next February for this young, talented and gifted duo.
