Album Review: Nothing But Thieves

On first listening to this new album form this promising UK band I thought that they were heavily influenced by Muse, but after further listens the album comes into its own. There was a UK group in the mid 90's called Mansun who some might recall, this new band sound very much like them with their sense of melody mixed with some excellent rock songs. There is some Radiohead in there too. If you like Radiohead chances are you will enjoy this album.

Things start off with the opening track Excuse Me which has an atmospheric chorus but the Muse style vocal of Ban All The Music finds the band in full swing. Other standout tracks include Trip Switch, Drawing Pins and Painkiller.

The album closes with a ballad Tempt You, which shows how diverse the band are. Impressive debut album.
