Album Review: Olly Murs - Never Been Better - Sony Music

Olly Murs has had a successful career although he did not win the X Factor. Whether you view him as the best thing to happen to British pop over the last few years or as a second rate Robbie Williams, his new album is not that bad.

There are seasoned writers on the album such as Wayne Hector and Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) and even a co-write for Murs with Paul Weller on the album's closing track, Let Me In.

The album starts off with Did You Miss Me?, (that will depend on if you are a fan or not). The track is like most of the tracks on the album, jaunty and upbeat which reflect his personality. The latest single Wrapped Up follows whilst his next single Up is a duet with Demi Levato. The track is an inoffensive track that will sound good on the radio, it is catchy and memorable.

The Ryan Tedder co-written track Seasons could be a Maroon 5 song whilst ballad Hope You Came What You came For shows a different side to his music and shows him coming out of his comfort zone. Stick with Me gives a nod to Avicci and will be a good dance floor track.

The aforementioned Paul Weller co-wrote track with Murs, Let Me In is a rousing ballad that is not your typical Paul Weller track.

A diverse album that shows that he will have a longer career than you might have expected. With some heavyweight song writing partners on board this ship is certainly not sinking.
