Gig Preview: Pusher - The Basement, York

A new Yorkshire band that only formed last year is playing a gig in York at The Basement on Friday 8 August.

This Barnsley outfit sound like a mix between Echo and the Bunnymen and Joy Division with a hint of the Chemical Brothers.

"We've never played York before" guitarist Nevyn Stevenson told me "We are really looking forward to the gig"

Their last single Let It Break had moody hooks laced with some psychedelic guitars. "We have a new EP coming out in October" shared Nevyn "people coming to the York gig can expect to hear tracks off that along with the best of our tracks so far"

"We all met at school and the band formed around then" he shared "We are proud to come from Yorkshire, it is a great county" he enthuses.

It is early days for the band yet but this will be chance to see the band in an intimate venue.

Tickets are at £5.00 and available from http://www.thebasementyork.co.uk
