Gigi Review: Clean Bandit - Supported By Years And Years

Years and Years are a new act who were a good choice to open up for Clean Bandit: both acts produce tracks that are influenced by early house music that also have a strong melody.

They sound like a cross between Disclosure and tonight's headline act. With some good songs in Desire and Eyes Shut, their forthcoming début album is eagerly awaited.

Clean Bandit has had one of the biggest hits this year with their single, Rather Be. Mixing classical and house music is certainly different but it is refreshing and it does work.

With only having their début album released in May it was obvious that the gig was going to be centred around the album.

With two guest female singers on stage with the four piece that go to make up Clean Bandit they brought the songs off the album to life, all the musicians appeared to feeling the music.

They showcased two new numbers too in Real Love and Stronger, suggesting that they have more hits to come.

Things really took off when they performed their second single, ExtraOrdinary with a very slick performance.

Showing their house music influences, they encore with the Robyn S house music classic, Show Me Love before the gig ended naturally with Rather Be.

The act looks like a long term prospect.
