Interview - Kongos
Kongos
With their early years spent in the UK and South Africa, US based band of brothers, Kongos, have crafted a truly international sound that is destined for stadium filling success.
Having recently released their third studio album (officially their second as the first was while unsigned), the band have UK domination in their sights.
While we let you get acquainted with the album, Egomaniac, we take a closer look at their own record collection as we ask what song makes you...
Smile
Jesse: You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon always puts a smile on our face. We grew up listening to all kinds of music but Paul Simon is definitely a big influence.
Contemplate
Dylan: I'm a big Jackson Browne fan and These Days is probably one of many of his tracks that makes you think.
Cry
Johnny: I think it would have to be something like Si, Mi Chiamano Mimi from La Boheme.
Laugh
Daniel - Anything by Wheeler Walker Jr - let's go for Family Tree. If you've not heard of him yet you should check him out, he makes filthy country music. It's legit country music but it's the filthiest lyrics you've ever heard. He's a comedian who created this character.
Want to work out
Dylan - I like listening to really chilled music when I work out so probably Bob Marley - Natural Mystic.
Reminisce
Johnny - Kings of Leon - Radioactive. We supported them on their 2014 North American tour so most of their songs bring back memories.
Relax
Jesse - Ice Cube - It Was A Good Day. We're definitely all fans of hip hop especially the Dre, Snoop Dogg era.
Feel Determined
Daniel - I Wanna Be In LA by Eagles of Death Metal. It's the only song ever written about LA that works for me.
Dance
Johnny - Alexandra Stan's Lollipop. It's ridiculously silly.
