You may not have heard the name before but this exciting new artist has played gigs in the past with The Vamps and Alicia Dixon. His debut album The Time it Takes is due to be released on Friday 21 October ahead of his support slot on the Rebecca Ferguson tour.

THE TOUR VISITS SHEFFIELD ON FRIDAY 11 NOVEMBER, HAVE YOU PLAYED A GIG IN THE CITY BEFORE?

I did a gig at the City Hall before as part of the Women of Steel gig, but I am really looking forward to the Rebecca Ferguson tour as it will introduce me to a whole new audience. This time when I play the City Hall I will have a band with me. I have a 20 minute set so at the moment I am just arranging what songs to perform.

HOW DID YOU GET THE SUPPORT SLOT ON THE TOUR?

They were looking for someone who would compliment her style of music. I've done a bit of swing style music and some pop and dance so it seemed a good fit. I'm very excited about doing the tour as it visits some historic venues and it will be a great experience for me.

WILL THERE BE AN ALBUM OUT IN TIME FOR THE TOUR?

We are working on that; the album is due to be released to coincide with the tour. It is quite a mixed album but I am really pleased with it and I hope that people who hear me at the gig in Sheffield will enjoy my music too.

WHAT WAS THE WORST JOB THAT YOU HAVE HAD?

I'm not too sure that I have had any bad jobs. I once had to play saxophone on a train once, that was pretty unusual. One of the best things was performing at Sheffield Arena at the Hallam FM summer party last year. The Vamps were appearing along with Alicia Dixon and the fans were very loud and enthusiastic as you might expect.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED?

It has to be stick at it and don't give up. It has worked for me.
