Skye / Ross

Skye Edwards and Ross Godfrey, launch their brand new project SKYE | ROSS, with an eponymously titled album due for release September 2nd on Fly Agaric Records / Cooking Vinyl Records.

Both celebrated artists in their own rights, this collaboration has us more than a little excited. Wanting to know about their influences, we asked Ross 'what song always makes you...'

Smile

Carry On by Crosby, Stills and Nash has a undeniable joy that I find hard to resist.

Contemplate

Bob Dylan makes me all thinky, my favourite track at the moment is Visions of Johanna. He paints such a picture with his words and I like the way he says Jo-Hanna.

Cry

Trouble by Cat Stevens brings up emotion in me, Cat Stevens early albums are great.

Laugh

Canyons of your Mind by the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band makes me chuckle, Vivian Stanshall's delivery of such sureal lyrics is wonderful and the guitar solo by Niel Innes is one of the best there is.

Want to work out

Nirvana's album Nevermind is my favourite work out music, I didn't like it in the 1990's but now I love it. I listen to it in the gym all the time.

Reminisce

Harvest by Neil Young reminds me of being very young, I think my parents listened to it a lot in 1970's. My favourite song is Out On The Weekend.

Relax

In a Silent Way by Miles Davis is the most relaxing album ever, it sends you into a trance, perfect for lazing around by the pool in a sunny location.

Feel Determined

I love the distorted guitar and heavy drums of Cream, their song Deserted Cities of the Heart makes me want to do something constructive, I prefer the live version on Live Cream Vol II

Dance

I don't really dance unless I am very drunk but my favourite dance music is by Aphex Twin, I particulary like the track Tha from Selected Ambient Works.
