A Fairy Tale Vintage
Victoria Benn, Features Writer
For the last three years Saltaire based Rose and Brown Vintage have been enjoying a very special collaboration with Bradford Museums and Galleries, enabling them to host vintage fairs in some of the most beautiful and unique buildings and galleries across the district; select 'home comings' for the wonderful world of vintage!
As part of the collaboration they will be holding their third vintage fair at Cliffe Castle Museum, which will be entitled - A Fairytale Vintage Fair - to tie in with the museum's current exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the world famous Cottingley fairy photographs which were taken in July 1917. The Cottingley Fairies became one of the most famous hoaxes to fool the world.
It wasn't until the 1980s that the photos were finally exposed as frauds when Elsie Wright, one of the two young cousins involved, confessed that the fairies were in fact paper cut-outs.
The Fairy Tale Vintage Fair will take place inside Cliffe Castle Museum in Keighley this coming weekend on Saturday May 13th and Sunday May 14th from 11am - 4pm.
Keep on your lookout as stallholders will be trying their hardest to sneak in a few dark or dainty fairy tale references amongst their stock, for a sprinkling of true fairy-tale magic!
May 13th and May 14th 11am - 4pm
Cliffe Castle Museum, Spring Gardens Lane, Keighley, BD20 6LH
Entry - Free
