Album Review: Opolopo - Superconductor

Opolopo was born in Hungary who now lives in Sweden has just released this album of dance tracks on London based Z records which is owned by Dance music house producer, artist and remixer, Joey Negro.

The album owes a lot to 1980 acts such as Cameo and Colonel Abrahams. You can hear this especially on the track Feels Good 2 Me. With the vocals of Taka Boom ( younger sister of Chaka Khan) the track is one of the best on the album. Elsewhere Diane Charlemagne lends her soulful vocals to another of the standout tracks on the album, Round and Round. The lyric to the song has an uplifting message that is under pinned with a tune with a seductive house music groove.

If we get a decent summer and the hot weather returns this album will sound even better.

There are instrumental tracks mixed with the vocal tracks but this album sounds as good in the car or at home as it does on the dancefloor.
