Business Success Is Child’s Play For Spectacular Group

It was the Covid lockdown period which gave Spectacular Groups’ Founder Adrian Knight the time and the opportunity to reassess his career.

Having just become a father he was on the lookout for something which not only provided a stable and sustainable professional platform but was also in a sector which gave more meaning to his life and at the same time provided service to others.

He had spent the previous five years building Knight Franchises, aimed at helping senior professionals get out of corporate life and into franchise-business ownership, at the same time learning how to grow a team and build businesses.

The result was the launch of the Spectacular Group, which at present is made up of three brands -- Jo Jingles which provides music and movement classes for under-fives; Talking Tots, providing speech and communication development for under-fives and Playground Projects, which builds playgrounds, outdoor-fitness and outdoor-learning spaces for nurseries, schools and local authorities.

Jo Jingles and Talking Tots between them have more than 70 locations in the UK, Ireland and Australia and help educate more than 10,000 under-five-year-olds each term, while Playground Projects has several showcase projects, including one which transforms a school’s Ofsted results from ‘special measures’ to ‘outstanding’, building inclusive outdoor areas for children with disabilities, including autism.
The company’s financial future looks bright, too, having gone from a standing start in August 2020 to annual sales of £2m-plus and employing 15 staff in just over 24 months. This has been achieved by a combination of organic growth and acquisition. Adrian Knight says the company is on track to quadruple that growth this year and looks forward to annual sales of £8m and 40 staff.

Adrian Knight said:
“While business growth is always exciting, every day I remind the team at Spectacular Group and myself why we are doing this.

“Fundamentally, it's about the children. We may not be smart enough to solve all the world’s problems but we can certainly do our best at empowering an entire generation to do so."
