Celtic Folk Americana Band Johnny Mac And The Faithful To Join Rod Stewart's York And Sheffield Summer Shows
The Glasgow based band Johnny Mac and The Faithful have been announced as the special guest act on the Rod Stewart summer shows that are taking place in York and Sheffield this summer, after attracting the attention of Rod.
Johnny Mac and the Faithful previously opened for Rod at his Glasgow SSE Hydro gig in 2017 at a concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of Celtic Football Club's 1967 European Cup victory. A friendship was born from that and Rod invited frontman John McLaughlin to co write the song Julia, which appears on his latest number one album, Blood Red Roses.
John has also written and produced hits for artists such as Westlife, Busted, Echo and the Bunnymen, Shane MacGowan and Sandi Thom.
The band are set to release a new album of original Celtic-Folk and Americana songs to coincide with the tour.
Saturday 1 June - York - York Racecourse
Saturday 15 June - Sheffield - Bramall Lane Stadium
