East 59th, Leeds

Interior of East 59th
Situated on the top floor of the new Victoria Gate complex in Leeds City Centre is the East 59th Bar and Restaurant.

On entering it feels like you have found a hidden gem and the warm atmosphere is apparent as soon as you walk in. The bar is at one end whilst at the other is the open kitchen. In between is the eating area.

With a good sound system the music seemed to be a mix of soul and soft dance tracks.

In January they have launched the Love To Dine menu, where on weekdays you can have 2 courses and a glass of house wine or bottled beer for £15.00.

Nachos
The menu for this deal is not too extensive, but there are vegetarian options.

Flat Iron Steak
We went for the Nachos which didn't seem to have much taste, however my main of a 200grm Flat Iron Steak served with steak sauce and watercress was superb. Cooked to my preference the juicy steak more than made up for the bland starter.

East 59th Cheese Burger
My sister went for the East 59th Cheese Burger and Fries. If you like your burger served with plenty of relish you will not be disappointed. Served with cheese, bacon, lettuce, sliced red onion, pickles and special sauce it more than filled a gap. A good quality burger too.

Chocolate Brownie and icecream
Desserts are not included, but we chose from the limited dessert menu.

I went for the Chocolate Brownie, which was very sweet, gooey and moreish, whilst my sister went for the raspberry cheesecake.

Raspberry Cheesecake
With the friendly and knowledgeable staff, Jade in particular, it made for a pleasing visit.

Interview With Mike Peters Of The Alarm
Apparently the Weekend Brunch for £25.00 is very popular, served from 11am to 4pm with free flowing Prosecco or Bloody Marys.

The venue seems to change on different nights with live music on some nights and a DJ on other nights.

They could do with more signage in the Victoria Gate centre then more people would know it was there.

The roof top garden with views over Leeds is worth visiting for this alone.

It feels classy and slightly exclusive.
