Simple Minds made a spectacular come back last year with one of their best albums of their career, Big Music. The band played a sell out concert tour this spring.

The band are playing 3 arena gigs this month and they visit Leeds on Friday 27 November.

I saw the band in Blackpool earlier this year and they were still a great live act. It's easy to forget that in the mid 80s the band were as big as U2, they played two sell out shows at Milton Keynes Bowl in 1986 playing to over 100,000 fans.

With lead singer Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill joined by stalwart drummer Mel Gaynor, keyboard player Andy Gillespie, bassist Ged Grimes, backing vocalists Sarah Brown and Catherine AD the band have settled into a proper band again.

Support comes from The Stranglers an act from the same era as Simple Minds.

Tickets are now available from www.firstdirectarens.com or calling the box office on 0844 248 1585
