Go Behind The Scenes At Martin House
A rare chance to look behind the scenes at Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People is on offer when it opens its doors to the public on Sunday 8th October.

The annual open day at Martin House - which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year - is the only time the public get to see first-hand how it supports families.

It will feature guided tours by members of the care team, talks from special guests and a range of family activities, plus refreshments on offer throughout the day.

For the first time this year Martin House Makers pop-up shop will be at the open day, featuring upcycled clothes for sale, and the hospice's 30th anniversary inflatable art installation The Butterfly and The Bird will be on display.

There will also be the chance to find out more about Martin House's fundraising events, ways to support the charity and volunteering opportunities.

Martin House
Clair Holdsworth, director of care, said:
"Martin House is much more than just a building. It is a place where families come to make memories they can cherish.

"It takes the hard work and dedication of a huge team of people to provide the care that our children and young people - and their families - value so much.

"Our open day is a chance for people to learn more about how we support families, and to learn more about what hospice care means for children, young people and families in our region.

"We hope people will come along with an open mind to get a real insight into the importance of what we do."

Martin House provides care and support to children and young people with life-limiting conditions - and their families - throughout West, North and East Yorkshire, at its hospice, in hospitals and in their own homes.

The open day takes place at the hospice on Grove Road, Boston Spa, between 11am and 3pm. For more information about Martin House, visit www.martinhouse.org.uk
