25 year old Isabella Lueen is best known by her stage name Levina. Having romped to victory on Unser Song 2017, Levina was not just selected by the German public out of 33 contendors, but was the only artist selected to appear in the finals of the contest where song against song is normally pitted simultaneously with artist against artist. With a song that has captured blogosphere's attention, we caught up with Levina to find out more.

For those not in the know, tell us a little about yourself...

I am Levina and I am a singer and songwriter from Germany. I started having singing lessons at the age of 9 and never stopped doing music since then :) And now I'm so excited to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest and release my debut album "Unexpected".

What appealed to you about entering Eurovision?

My friend from Germany sent me the link for the online application and I thought, yes - lets do it!

How did you feel when you found out you would be representing Germany?

First of all, I did not realise it and I thought ,, Oh my god, that is really happening! I am really selected with my two songs!" I was super happy. I just could not believe it. Also, I was really overwhelmed by the reaction of the audience. It was absolutely fantastic!

Your song is called Perfect Life, tell us about it...

My song makes people want to dance and additionally its message is very special to me: The song talks about a perfect life, that is not actually perfect at first. We all experience negative situations and make mistakes, but this shouldn't push us away from your path, but make us stronger. Sometimes the unexpected situations and the little mistakes, are exactly the ones that make it a perfect life for us. 'Perfect Life' is a positive and motivating song, and I hope I can deliver this message to everyone who listens to it.

What is the best feedback you have received as yet?

A little boy from Macedonia told me that he loves my song and Germany should be proud of me. That was super sweet!

Have you listened to your competitors yet? If so, which is your current favourite?

Yes, of course, I listened to them. I actually like a lot of the songs! Belgium is one of my favourites and I also like the Czech & Portuguese ones!

Have you spoken to any past entrants? If so, what advice have they had?

Enjoy every moment of it - Lena told me.

What is your favourite Eurovision entry of all time?

I really like ABBA with "Waterloo". Their stage outfits were amazing.

What do you hope to achieve with your appearance at Eurovision?

I feel people around Europe are reacting well, but in the end you don't know for sure and you can't influence it. We will have a great staging: Simple, but at the same time cool and extraordinary. You'll have to wait and see it for yourself.

What is success for you in the contest?

Mainly I want to have a great experience in Kiev and want to do a performance that I can be proud of and that I'll love to watch even after the Eurovision Song Contest for years to come. I would love to be in the top 10, of course, and I hope I can reach the people with my voice.
