Jools Holland And Jose Feliciano - As You See Me Now (East West)

Jools Holland has teamed up with Jose Feliciano for his latest album which includes original songs and a few covers too.

The title track written by Holland has a great lyric for Jose Feliciano to sing "I had money, looks and charm, beautiful women hanging on my word and on my arm, I have not always been as you see me now" A melodic track sung with a passionate vocal.

Stevie Wonder's Treat Myself is turned into an upbeat jazzy track that should be one of the highlights when they tour together in December.

Another Jools Holland original, Just To Be Home With You is a soulful ballad. There is a cracking version of One More Drink from Feliciano too that sounds great.

A bluesy version of Hit The Road Jack with Ruby Turner is one of the highlights of the album, whilst the version of the Lennon and McCartney song, In My Life sounds like it was written for Jose Feliciano.

The album closes with Happy New Year another Holland original. You can bet he will be performing this on his annual New Years Eve show on BBC2 this year.

I give the album 4 out of 5.

Jools Holland with Jose Feliciano and The Rhythm and Blues Orchestra are appearing at:

Harrogate Conference Centre on Thursday 21 December and Leeds Arena on Friday 22 December
