Mariah Carey To Play Her Only Outside Festival Appearance In The North

First we got the news that Britney Spears was playing Scarborough, which had it been announced on 1 April might have been taken as an April Fools joke.

Now comes the announcement that another Las Vegas resident is to play her only UK festival appearance this year - in Blackpool.

Mariah Carey, the best selling female artist of all time has chosen Blackpool to appear at the town's Livewire Festival on Friday 24 August which will be held on the Tower Headlands Arena.

The star who has sold over 200 million albums will headline the first night of the festival.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 11 May
