Now Thats What I Call Now Compilation (Sony/ Universal)

This 5 CD compilation brings together 100 pop classics from over four decades of The Now compilations.

The CDs are in chronological order so it starts off with the Culture Club Karma Chameleon - a song which appealed to fans of the group from 8 to 80 years. At the time Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood was banned by the BBC due to the risqué lyric - I can't see that happening in 2018!

Who can forget seeing for the first time the video to The Final Countdown by Europe on MTV when the music Channel was first broadcast in the Yorkshire region in 1986? The hair might not be as long but the track still sounds good.

The list is endless for good quality pop tracks such as A Little Respect by Erasure, Are You Gonna Go My Way by Lenny Kravitz and Rock DJ from Robbie Williams. With these acts still touring today it goes to show how a good song can sustain an artists career.

There are the novelty hits too such as Saturday Night by Whitfield and Rednex and Cotton Eye Joe.

Things come more current with Shotgun by George Ezra - the track will become a karaoke staple I am sure! The Camila Cabello track, Havana shows how far pop has travelled in the 35 years since Karma Chameleon was released.

I rate it 5 out of 5
