Penguins Celebrate Football Victory With Message In The Sand
Staff and penguins at Sea Life Scarborough are sending words of encouragement to England’s national squad after their nail biting match against Columbia.
The colony of birds could be found waddling all over the words ‘It’s coming home’ in the sand on Penguin Island this morning.
Andy Jayes, a foodball mad aquarist at the aquarium wanted to send a message of support to the England players:
“It’s just a bit of fun really but after getting through on penalties I decided to write them a message on Penguin Island with the help of Rico and Skipper, two of our younger males.
“Humboldt penguins are native to Peru and Chile in the wild which are obviously closer to Columbia but now that Columbia and Peru have been knocked out, I’m certain that they’ll be joining the rest of us here and cheering on the English team”
To celebrate England’s success so far, Sea Life Scarborough are offering all walk up admissions 50% off this weekend.
“All the staff, including myself and the penguins wish the team the best of luck on Saturday!”
