Planned Roadworks In Yorkshire And The Humber – Summary For Monday 3 September To Sunday 9 September
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Thursday 30 August and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

Please note the M18 will be closed northbound between junctions 1 and 2 and lanes 2 and 3 on the southbound carriageway this evening (Friday) from 7pm until around 10am for the complex recovery of an abnormal load which broke down overnight (Thursday). Clearly signed diversions will be in place.

M1 junction 35 Thorpe Hesley


The southbound exit slip road will be fully closed overnight for five nights from Monday 3 September. The southbound entry slip road will be fully closed overnight for two nights from Monday 3 September. The closures for carriageway repair work will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 33 Catcliffe

The southbound exit slip road will be fully closed overnight on Tuesday 4 September for technology work. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 33 Catcliffe to junction 31 Aston

The southbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight for three nights from Wednesday 5 September this also includes the closure of the M1 southbound to M18 northbound link and the M18 southbound link to M1 southbound for carriageway repairs. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 35 Thorpe Hesley

The northbound entry slip road will be fully closed overnight on Thursday 6 September for technology work. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 35a Stocksbridge

The southbound entry slip road will be fully closed overnight on Wednesday 5 September for technology work. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M18 junction 5 North Ings to junction 6 Thorne

The northbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight for three nights from Wednesday 5 September for carriageway repair work. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M62 junction 28 Tingley to junction 27 Gildersome

The westbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight for two nights from Monday 3 September for gantry work. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M62 junction 27 Gildersome

There will be a temporary barrier in place on the westbound exit slip road at junction 27 and the M621 to M62 anticlockwise exit slip road. There will be a 50mph speed restriction in place until the end of November with a lane 3 closure on the southern roundabout 24/7 for junction improvements.

M62 junction 27 Gildersome to junction 26 Chain Bar

The westbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight for two nights from Wednesday 6 September for gantry work. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M62 junction 37 Howden

The westbound exit slip road will be fully closed overnight for two nights from Monday 3 September and overnight on Friday 7 September. The eastbound exit slip road will be fully closed overnight on Tuesday 4 September and Friday 7 September. The eastbound entry slip road will be fully closed overnight for two nights from Wednesday 5 September. The closures for carriageway repair work will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A162 Ferrybridge

The northbound and southbound carriageway will be fully closed until Friday 21 December for carriageway repairs. The closure will 24/7 and drivers will be able to follow a clearly signed diversion route.

A180 Brocklesby to Barnetby

The westbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight for six nights from Monday 3 September for carriageway repair work. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A63 Priory Way

The eastbound exit slip road will be fully closed overnight on Wednesday 5 September for technology work. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A631 Tinsley

The northbound carriageway will be fully closed until Saturday 3 November for maintenance work. The closure will be 24/7 and drivers will be diverted on to the service road. HGV drivers will be able to follow a clearly signed diversion route.
