Rita Ora - Phoenix (Atlantic Records)

This second album from Rita Ora has been a long time coming. Most of the tracks have already been released as singles as the album could even be a greatest hits album.

She has some very good songs that will be remembered in years to come. Opening track Anywhere is a good case in point whilst new single Let You Love Me has an haunting melody.

Lonely Together the track she did with the late Avicii shows what a talent the Swede was.

The duet she did with Liam Payne - For You was more successful than the Fifty Shades film the song is featured in. The Doncaster born singer sounds in fine form here with Ora.

It is the last two tracks of the album where she comes into her own: Keep Talking with Julia Michaels is a superb modern track whilst Hell of A Life is built around a nagging hook that sticks in your head.

I give the album 4 out of 5

Rita Ora plays Leeds Arena on Tuesday 28 May 2019
