School Holiday Cookery School At Alexander’s
As part of its family friendly ethos and offer, Alexander’s, Skipton’s European inspired Bar and Kitchen, have enlisted the help of Noodles the Bear to run a series of cookery workshops for children aged 4 to 11 this summer holidays.

The six one hour sessions running July 25th, August 8th and August 22nd will be run by experienced teacher and former primary school deputy head, Melanie Braid, who created Noodles to educate children about the joy of cooking together and the importance of using healthy fresh ingredients.

Melanie said, “Alexander’s is a perfect venue for hosting Noodles the Bear’s cookery schools as its Little Explorers menu already adopts the premise of taking healthy grown up food but presenting it in a way that appeals to children. This is exactly what Noodles is all about, showing children how ‘magic’ can be created when foods are used in the right way!”

The sessions, which include master classes in creating pizzas, monster sandwiches and delicious summer desserts, will be fun and hands-on, offering lots of opportunities for tasting new foods. They will also provide parents with a quiet hour to relax whilst children are entertained and educated about food – or they can join in too if they wish.

Noodles has already been introduced to numerous families and schools throughout the last year, created in response to Melanie’s observations about children’s diets and general understanding of food, garnered over her 25 year teaching career.

Catherine White, general manager of Alexander’s said, “Noodle’s the Bear returns to Alexander’s by popular demand, having hosted a series of sell out workshops at Easter. He will hopefully become a key part of our family friendly offer, along with our Little Explorer menus and new children’s activity and colouring sheets.”
