Summer Holiday Compilation (Sony Music)
Graham Clark, Features Writer
This new compilation seems to concentrate on summer hits from the 60's and in the case of the Mungo Jerry hit, In the Summertime, the early 70's.

Naturally the first track on the 2CD compilation is Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard and the Shadows. They pop up again on CD2 with On The Beach, whilst The Shadows offer Wonderful Land and Atlantis on the compilation.

Also by Graham Clark...
Sparks - Manchester Ritz

Gilbert O'Sullivan - Grand Opera House, York
Preview: Yorfest Including Headliners The Shires
VEVO Halloween Returns To Manchester With Rag 'N' Bone Man
By looking at the track listing I get the feeling the album is aimed at a certain age group.

Elsewhere there is The Kinks with Sunny Afternoon, The Isley Brothers with Summer Breeze, The Lovin Spoonful with Summer in the City and Eddie Cochran with Summertime Blues.

You might have expected there to be a few Beach Boys tracks but there is only one from them namely Kokomo.

A good round up of some classic summer tracks.

All we need now is the good weather to go with the spirit of the album!
