The Little Alf Shop Opening

Hannah at her shop opening
The Little Alf shop is open!

This weekend I opened the first Little Alf shop in Leyburn Market Town. The sun was shining as we opened our doors and it was great to see that we had a queue forming just after 9:00am, so we opened up ahead of schedule. We welcomed everyone in to have a browse and celebrate with us with a Little Alf cupcake (which were delicious!).

It was lovely to see so many people turn out and visit us on opening day. It even got very crowded sometimes due to the shop being small. We can only fit a maximum of 30 people in at one time, so trying to fit over 50 in was quite a struggle. Luckily everyone was happy enough to wait before they had a peek inside the store.

I had lots of people bring me the most wonderful flowers and good luck cards. I still haven't had chance to find vases for them all and have bunches of flowers currently in my kitchen and bathroom sinks.

It still hasn't quite sunk in that I now have a Little Alf shop. Yesterday I was giving talks in Oxford about Life as an Author so I haven't really had time to reflect for a moment and think about it all! But I am really excited about the future and have loads planned for the store!

Little Alf Gets A Sponsor
I'm not sure what Alfie things yet. I plan to take him up in the next week or so to have a look and take some images. He usually trys to bite the Little Alf soft toys so he will probably enjoy looking at them placed around the shop.

This week we are getting ready for the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate, so Alfie today will be getting a groom and packing his suitcase.

Alfie is only attending the show on the Tuesday as they are incredibly long days 7:00am - 7:30pm. Usually Alfie doesn't get up until 8:00am so I don't think he is going to be too impressed in the morning. He is also used to going to bed around 6:00pm so I think he will be very tired by Tuesday night.

Although Alfie isn't attending the 3 days I will be there on the Wednesday with my books. We will be on the 'Welcome to Yorkshire's' stand which we are looking forward to. We've been to the great Yorkshire show before a couple of years ago so it will be nice to be back!

If you're going to the Great Yorkshire Show then pop along and say Hi!
