The Potting Shed, Beverley

The Potting Shed, Beverley
Already opened in Bingley with a newly opened bar/restaurant in Northallerton, the Beverley branch of this new chain looks to have a bright future.

Situated at the the eastern entrance to the inviting market town, the red brick building has been tastefully renovated to take on a gardening theme, so expect lots of green including Potting Sheds outside where you can dine or drink if you so wish!

Even on a busy Friday night it was a relaxed atmosphere - there are various TV screens showing sport, but the sound is not on so it does not detract from the experience. On Friday and Saturday nights they also have some live music too such as a singer/guitarist.

There is a lounge area where you can escape to if you prefer a smaller cosy area, whilst there is plenty of outdoor seating including a roof terrace for warmer days.

It is quite a wide age range they seem to attract and whether you fancy a chargrilled burger or a pizza prepared in front of your eyes which is cooked in a wood fired oven, you will not be disappointed.

Service is quick, efficient and friendly - just what you would expect when dining in Yorkshire!

Garlic bread
My starter of Garlic Pizza Bread with Cheese came as a massive serving and would be a meal in itself or better still served between two whilst my partner's Hummus was a good thick consistency.

My Pizza Burger was certainly different from what I had tried before: a meaty burger served with pepperoni, bacon, mozzarella and marinara sauce was good value priced at £8.95, as it came with twice fried seasoned fries, a small salad garnish and homemade slaw.

My partner went for the Shed Chargrilled Steak Burrito which was stuffed with a plentiful supply of Chargrilled rump steak wrapped in Yorkshire Pudding served with chunky chips and gravy. Excellent value for £12.95.

A new winter menu is just about to be launched with tempting desserts including Oreo Cheesecake as well as Toffee Popcorn Sundae not forgetting the Shed Mess all priced at £3.95

No wonder this inviting establishment has become one of the most popular in Beverley.
