The Yorkshire Times Seasonal Spotlight - Tony Passmore
Katie Mallinson, Features Writer
As we prepare for the final few weeks of 2017, we grab 60 seconds with Tony Passmore, managing director at Passmore Group, in this exclusive seasonal spotlight for The Yorkshire Times…
What was your primary business objective at the start of the year?
My objective at the start of the year was to continue to grow the business, whilst improving customer satisfaction.
Looking back on 2017, what have been the 3 biggest highlights for Passmore Group?
Merging with Charms Bathrooms of Harrogate, retaining another four years with both Leeds and Bradford City Councils to deliver home adaptations for the disabled and elderly, and finally our ongoing expansion.
What has been the most difficult challenge for your business?
The most difficult challenge has to have been finding good quality installers, who can join our team and work to our high standards.
Name another Yorkshire firm that you think has had a great year…
Shopfitting and joinery contractor Sigma Leeds Ltd. They have made some great improvements to their firm in 2017, which has enabled them to develop and thrive.
And one to watch in 2018?
Trib3 gym in Leeds, which offers a unique gym experience. They’re trying to move away from being a generic gym by providing a different fitness experience, which I think will really help them to stand out within their industry.

Simply to continue to grow – I think our Harrogate expansion will really help us to achieve this in 2018.
Anything you will do differently?
IT has always proven to be a tough element to integrate into the team, so I want to continuously introduce it into the business throughout the year, to help further streamline our processes and improve efficiency.
How do you think the regional business climate will fare?
I think at the moment the economic and political climate is a bit unclear due to the many challenges that lie ahead. We work in both the public and private sectors, which pose their own unique difficulties, but despite this we aim to keep up with any changes that may have an effect on the business, so we can react as quickly as possible.
How will your team be celebrating Christmas before the break?
We will be heading over to The Royal Armouries in Leeds for an evening of fun, good food and lots of laughter.
Describe Christmas at your house, in three words
Family, rest, eggnog!
