What’s Hot, What’s Not In 2018
Turkey may have been the bird of choice last month, but it is also set to become the number one holiday destination for 2018 according to Jet2holidays’ latest survey.

The airline has been examining key trends over the next 12 months and says that bookings for Turkey are seeing a huge surge, forcing the company to add an extra 600,000 seats for this year. There has been a fourfold increase in bookings to Antalya, with Bodrum and Dalaman seeing bookings more than double compared to last year.

Italy and Croatia are also seeing huge growth, as are the Greek islands and Cyprus. The UK’s second largest tour operator is reporting a trend of customers looking to explore new and undiscovered regions, which is demonstrated by the growth in bookings to Costa de Almeria and the Greek Island of Halkidiki.

There are two Italian destinations, Verona and Naples, making the top 10 destination list which is as follows:

1 Antalya, Turkey
2 Verona, Italy
3 Halkidiki, Greece
4 Bodrum, Turkey
5 Naples, Italy
6 Costa de Almeria, Spain
7 Dalaman, Turkey
8 Kos, Greece
9 Kefalonia, Greece
10 Larnaca, Cyprus

Zoe Towers, Head of Product at Jet2holidays, said “Turkey looks set to be a standout destination in 2018, with bookings really surging thanks to the fantastic value and climate that this beautiful country offers. Our holiday and city break destinations in Italy are also seeing strong growth, as are new destinations like Halkidiki and Costa De Almeria, which are really hotting up with British holidaymakers. Family favourites such as Majorca and the Canary Islands are still in vogue and city breaks are really on the rise as people look for short and great value escapes. “
