Workers Must Get A Fairer Share Of Company Profits In Their Pay, Says TUC

Commenting on today’s (Wednesday) labour market figures, which show real wages falling by 0.5% and in decline for the ninth month in a row, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:

“Companies have been reporting healthy profits for the last year. But they are not passing on a fair share of profits to their workers.

“The government must raise the minimum wage to £10 as quickly as possible. And hardworking teachers, midwives and other public servants must get a proper pay rise after years of artificial pay restrictions.”
