Worldwide Easter Destinations For Under £191

Mallorca
Mallorca
Easter is the perfect opportunity to get away and make the most of the four-day weekend and the school break.

Here Alpharooms has handpicked a selection of different destinations – some flying from the South, others from the North and Scotland - where Easter is enjoyed both traditionally and unconventionally.

Mallorca’s Street Processions

Century-old celebrations take place throughout Mallorca in Holy Week, March 25-31. Although the largest processions take place in the island’s capital, Palma, there are smaller festivities that take place in other towns such as Felanitx, which celebrates with an artisan Easter market.

Holidaymakers can join in the celebrations and watch the re-enactment of the Passion of Christ at noon on Good Friday on the steps of the cathedral in Palma, before the Holy Burial procession in the evening. These celebrations culminate in mass held on Easter Sunday, which is usually attended by the Royal Family. Visitors can also indulge in speciality Easter treats such as Panades – little meat pies – or Robiols – sweet Mallorcan pastries.

Offer: Four nights in Mallorca from £252 per person based on two adults and two children sharing. Staying at the three-star Gavimar Cala Gran Costa del Sur Hotel & Resort on a half board basis, flying from London Stansted on 30 March 2018.

Celebrate spring in Prague’s Easter Markets

Celebrating the arrival of Spring, both the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square play home to colourful Easter Markets between 17 March and 8 April. Attracting locals and tourists alike, the city squares are filled with wooden huts selling traditional handicrafts from glassware to embroidered lace as well as hand-painted eggs which can be personalised for visitors.

City-breakers can also enjoy local foods including klobása, a barbecued sausage, nádivka, roast lamb with parsley stuffing and trdelník, a sugar-coated pastry. For a truly authentic Easter experience holidaymakers can also attend Bach’s Easter Concert on Thursday 29th, which takes place in the Church of St Simon and Jude as well as listening to Mass being sung at the historic St Nicholas’ Cathedral on Easter Sunday.

Offer: Four nights in Prague from £191 per person based on two adults and two children sharing. Staying at the three-star Residence Casa Italia on a room only basis, flying from Glasgow on 26 March 2018.

On a little more unconventional note………….

There is also the opportunity to meet Disney rabbits such as Thumper, and Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh.

This Easter, Disneyland Paris will be celebrating its 25th anniversary, and so as well as their usual daily parades there are many new events such as the Disney Illuminations show with fireworks and light projections.
