Actress Ursula Holden-Gill Returns to Settle Stories...with Cake!
Ursula Holden-Gill
Arts charity Settle Stories are hosting an afternoon of storytelling with unlimited tea and cake at their venue The Joinery. Savvy storyteller and ex-Emmerdale star Ursula Holden-Gill will be performing at 'Tea & Tales', with treats provided by Elaine’s Tea Rooms of Feizor.

Audiences will be entertained by Lancashire lass Ursula as she tells stories and sings songs exploring both sides of the border between Lancashire and Yorkshire. There will be a mixture of traditional folk tales and her own humorous, thought-provoking originals. Ursula invites audience members into the world of her stories populated by underdog characters and mischievous plotlines. Elaine’s Tea Rooms are providing home-made cakes, buns and other sweet treats for the event. There will be no extra cost to attendees for cakes which will be accompanied by endless cups of Yorkshire tea or coffee. 'Tea & Tales' is a chance to laugh, cry, and enjoy the art form of storytelling on a cold winter's afternoon.

Ursula is a storyteller, actress and educator most well-known for her roles in Channel 4’s comedy drama Teachers and ITV’s Emmerdale. She obtained an MA in Intercultural Storytelling and a PG Dip. in acting from the Drama Studio London. She has proven popular with Settle audience’s in the past, having hosted numerous sell out shows at Settle Stories’ previous festivals. Currently a storyteller in residence at Leeds General Infirmary for children’s charity Henry Dancer Days, Ursula is immensely passionate about the power of storytelling.

Commenting on Ursula’s performances, BBC Writers Room said:

“Ursula is an enchanting, highly engaging storyteller. She takes her audience on an absorbing journey of laughter, wonder and surprise.”
