Afternoon Tea In Lockdown - Delivered To Your Door

It's Sunday morning at 11 o’clock, a knock on the door, who could be calling at this time of day? Most people know that we wouldn’t normally be in at that time.

With social distancing a priority these days we opened the door slowly. The picture below shows exactly what we found sitting on our doorstep. An afternoon tea for two in a box from Dales Bank Catering delivered by Alison herself.

What an absolute delight - a thoughtful gift from a friend. We couldn’t wait for teatime to come, tea today was going to be special. A lovely selection of sandwiches with smoked salmon blinis, quiche, sticky sausages and chicken skewers along with a beautiful salad, more than enough for the two of us.

The story doesn’t end here, however as along with the savouries was a slightly smaller box containing my husband's favourites, scones, jam and cream and of course a couple of strawberries to put on top. If that wasn’t enough there was also chocolate cake, millionaires shortbread and an unbelievable flapjack. Forget the diet for a day!! Now the boxes are well and truly empty, apart from a piece of chocolate cake which is being kept for tomorrow! All was delightful.
