As the England squad get ready to take on Euope’s elite, Sir Bobby Charlton has been named England’s greatest player of all time, according to a new national survey released today.

The study, carried out by LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Manchester and Birmingham ahead of the 2024 Euros, saw the 1966 World Cup winner receive almost a quarter of the vote (24%), narrowly edging out fellow Manchester United icon David Beckham (23%).

Current England captain, and the nation’s all-time top goal scorer, Harry Kane landed in third spot (12%), while World Cup winning captain Bobby Moore (11%) and Alan Shearer (7%) rounded out the top five.

To celebrate the Euros kicking off this summer, LEGOLAND Discovery Centres in Manchester and Birmingham are delighted to announce guests can claim 40% off entry on days when England plays – giving fans the chance to enjoy the pre-match ‘build up’ and Le’go of any match day stresses.

Fans can secure this brick-tastic offer on Sunday June 16th, Thursday June 20th and Tuesday June 25th, with further dates to be added should England be lucky enough to progress to the tournament’s knock-out stages.

Elsewhere in the survey, a third of fans stated they believe football will be coming home this summer, putting their faith in the nation to claim European glory at this year’s tournament.

If that is the case, Gareth Southgate will hope that the murmurs of discontent in his management will be put to bed, with four in ten (40%) England fans stating they would like Southgate to remain in charge.

However, some Brits are ready for a change, with former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp becoming the public’s choice to take over the England hot seat should Gareth Southgate be replaced.

Jenn McDonough, General Manager at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester, said:
“We cannot wait for the Euros to kick off this weekend here at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre. To celebrate the boys hopefully bringing it home, we’re delighted to offer everyone 40% off entry on days when England play, with the hope football fans young and old will be able to relax some nerves before the game!

“Our survey found that almost half the nation (47%) will be watching England with their family this summer, showing that, like LEGO, sport can be a great opportunity for loved ones to come together and spend important quality time as a family.”

On top of the deal, both LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Birmignham and Manchester have created a mini-match at the attraction, featuring 11 England players getting ready for their first match against, Serbia. The pitch scene includes LEGO minifigures, wearing England kits, and a Gareth Southgate in 2024 casual attire managing from the sidelines.
