World-renowned guitarist, singer, and songwriter Mark Tremonti has returned with his sixth album from his solo band, Tremonti. With a musical catalogue that also includes eighteen previously released albums from his work with Alter Bridge, Creed, and various solo albums, this new album, Tremonti, is back in the limelight.
He appears to possess a talent for crafting melodic rock tunes with a hint of Black Sabbath and contemporary bands like Nickelback, Black Stone Cherry, and, predictably, Alter Bridge.
Things start to get really heavy with one of the standout tracks from the album, Nail, as powerful guitar riffs mix with a wailing guitar solo as the vocals from Tremonti sound energetic yet emotional.
It’s Not Over calms things down again with a ballad that, if covered by a pop band, would be a big hit, such is the crossover potential of the song. The reflective title track,
The End Will Show Us How, almost sounds heroic and showcases a different aspect of the band.
I’ll Take My Chances fires guitar riffs like a runaway train out of control, coming with a soulful vocal as Tremonti and the band play like it was going to be their last night on earth.
Overall, the sound demonstrates how good rock music still sounds in the twenty-first century, with the album appealing to fans of the various bands Tremonti has played in, alongside those who will discover a fine rock album that deserves to be played loud and enjoyed long after its January release has faded beyond the horizon.
