Back Home Again: The Music of John Denver at St Michael's Kirkby Malham
Acclaimed singer / songwriter, Chris Bannister will nourish his unique harmonic gifts in the hallowed Medieval space of St Michael's Church in Kirkby Malham on the 9th November.
Chris' distinctive vocal style has, for many years, led to him being compared to the great American singer, John Denver. When, fourteen years ago, the singer assembled a show in tribute to the American star, he remained determined not to emulate the visual aspect of John’s performances, but to maintain his own singular artistic integrity. Now, he numbers a panoply of Denver's worldwide hits amongst his own repertoire, bringing a reinvigorated identity to ‘Annie’s Song’, ‘Take Me Home Country Roads’, ‘Leaving On A Jet Plane' and many others.

Over the last two years, the peripatetic vocalist has been performing to audiences across the world, from Australia to the USA, Europe to Japan, bringing his love of the songs of John Denver to a much wider audience. He is currently 'Back Home Again' and after visiting St Michael's Church and relishing the wonderful acoustics, Chris is looking forward to bringing his show to Malhamdale.
Chris will perform at St Michael the Archangel Church, Kirkby Malham on Saturday, 9th November.
