Bradford City are delighted to confirm the loan signing of Brandon Khela from Birmingham City for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.
A graduate of Birmingham’s academy, Khela has represented England at under-17 level and made his senior debut for the Blues in an EFL Trophy tie against Cheltenham Town in 2023. The 19-year-old midfielder has since made eight first team appearances for Birmingham.
Khela found the back of the net for Birmingham earlier this season in spectacular fashion, finding the top corner from 35 yards out.
He enjoyed a successful loan spell with Ross County last term in the Scottish Premiership, turning out 15 times in all competitions and got on the scoresheet in the Scottish Premiership Play-Offs against Raith Rovers.
Upon joining the Bantams, Khela stated:
I'm delighted to be here. I can't wait to get started. Last time [on loan] I learned a lot, it was a different experience going up to Scotland. This will be a different league, a different challenge. It will be much tougher I feel, but I'm ready to take on the challenge.
City boss Graham Alexander added:
Brandon is a young player with bags of energy and enthusiasm. He’s highly valued by his club and we’re delighted he’s chosen to come here. He’s a highly ambitious player and relishes the challenge of joining us at this time in our quest for success. We look forward to working with him.
Brandon Khela will be sponsored by Shipley Bantams during his stay and will wear the number 11 shirt.
