Current Olympic and European Champion Bryony Page has been named a MBE in the 2025 New Years Honours list for services to Trampoline Gymnastics.
Bryony Page became one of the standout British athletes at the Paris Olympics as she became the country's first ever Trampoline gold medalist.
On being named a MBE, 34 year-old Bryony Page said:
“It’s just such an amazing way to finish off the most incredible year - one that I could have never imagined.”
This was only possible because of so many people’s commitments, contributions and expertise. This MBE is a wonderful accolade to be awarded, one that I am incredibly proud of, and importantly, I feel it is in recognition of years of dedication and efforts of my support team around me.
Her gold medal at the Paris Olympics completed the set for Page as she had previously claimed a silver at the Rio games in 2016 and a bronze at the Tokyo games in 2021.
Her Olympic gold in Paris also broke records as she became the oldest female trampolinist to win an Olympic medal.
On her time at the 2024 Paris Olympics and her gold medal, Huntingdon born Page said:
“In the build up to the games I came across a few challenges so it wasn’t as smooth sailing as I’d have liked.”
It was really really exciting to see my name on top of that scoreboard and then to win and become Olympic champion. Although it was a goal I was hoping to achieve, it was still a disbelief that it was happening.
In 2024, Page was also successful in Britain and Europe as she won two golds at the European Championships (individual and synchronised) whilst also taking home the 2024 British individual title.
Her success in recent years means that she has become the first ever female gymnast to simultaneously hold the British, European, World and Olympic titles.
On her British and European titles this year, University of Sheffield graduate Page said: “since the Olympics, it’s just been an absolute whirlwind of different things and of course I competed at the British Championships and it was so nice to perform in front of a home crowd.”
“I love trampolining and I love to challenge myself and see what I can do next and it’s not just about the medals for me but about the experience.”
“I hope others are inspired to believe in themselves and remember to enjoy themselves whilst working hard to achieve their goals.”
Since her Olympic success, Page has started preparing to compete at numerous Trampolining events this year as she begins her preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles games.
On her future plans, Paris closing ceremony GB flag bearer Page said: “I have said since the games that I’d love to join Cirque du Soleil and I’d really love to see myself perform trampoline in a different way and what I know as well is that I’m really looking forward to the competitions.”
“I committed to competing at the World Games in the summer this year so that’s as set in stone as it can be for a Trampoline athlete, so the idea and the goal is to compete at the World Games and I’ve never competed at these games before so I would really like to do that.”
