Cancer Charity Invites Community To Mark Five Years Of Support At Fundraising Ball
The Maggie's Ball
Cancer support charity Maggie’s Yorkshire is celebrating its fifth birthday with a glamorous fundraising ball this Autumn.
Maggie's Yorkshire is based on the grounds of St James’s University Hospital in Leeds and opened its doors in November 2019, bringing a new kind of cancer care to Yorkshire.
To mark the occasion and celebrate all that has been accomplished over the years, Maggie's is inviting guests to join them at their Fifth Birthday Ball on Saturday 28th September, at Aspire events venue in Leeds.
On the evening guests will be treated to a drinks reception, live entertainment, a delicious three course meal and birthday games. They will hear inspirational stories from people who have been supported by Maggie’s, with the opportunity to also win amazing prizes to take home, as well as lots of fun and dancing.
The event will not only help generate much needed funds for the cancer support centre but will also be a celebration of all that has been achieved. Most importantly, the event will be a celebration of all those who have been on the journey with Maggie's and supported their life-changing work.

As the number of people living with cancer increases, it is essential that they can find the support they need to cope with the changes that life after cancer brings. Maggie’s Yorkshire offers a way of living well with cancer.
This includes ensuring that people with cancer in the region are really listened to, that they are offered tailored individual support, group support and practical support, all delivered by qualified professionals within a space that enables them to meet other people who understand what it means to be living with cancer too.
All of the money raised through the ball will help ensure the centre continues to provide free, professional support to all those living with cancer who need it across the region.
In 2024 it is projected that the team in Yorkshire will support 15,000 visits to the centre and help people claim £2.3million in financial help through benefits and other financial support.
