Celebrate All Things Cheese At The Cheese Festival 2019

The Wensleydale Creamery, based at Hawes in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, is excited to invite you to a weekend of all things cheese at its Cheese Festival 2019 on the 14th and 15th September, celebrating the rich cheese-making heritage of the area.

Local producers will be at the festival en-masse, with over 30 different suppliers of cheese, food, drink and crafts offering their finest products in the festival marquee, alongside outdoor street food vendors cooking up some tasty delights.

Throughout the weekend, the Creamery’s spacious new Demonstration Room will host cheese and butter making demonstrations with their Cheese Experts, along with cookery demonstrations, delivered by local chefs showcasing their talents and sharing tips and techniques, with plenty of delicious samples to try along the way.

Exclusive cheese Masterclasses will run daily, with the workshops incorporating cheese, food and drink pairings; expect lots of cheese, chocolate, honey, a tipple & more, along with talks and tastings with ‘The Experts’ as local producers impart their cheese-making knowledge.

In addition, the Creamery’s Master Cheese-makers will be hard at work, crafting Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese for visitors to view from the Viewing Gallery, & the much-loved Cheese Shop will be stocked full of cheese to try and buy!

With live music from talented local artists, plenty of amazing local cheese, food & drink, plus a birds of prey attraction in the Visitor Centre garden, the weekend is perfect for all the family!

Cheese Festival marquee entry is free! Masterclasses are only £5, and usual admission charges apply for the Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience, where cookery demonstrations will be held. There’s free parking onsite. A shuttle bus service by the Little White Bus will also run from the Dales Countryside Museum, through the town to the Creamery regularly throughout the day.
