Celebrate The Month Of Flowers With Slug In Bloom

Now that the weather is feeling more like May should do, it might be a good time to discover the new floral cocktails that Slug and Lettuce have launched for May.

The cocktail bar has teamed up with florist brand Interflora to create a limited edition range of floral cocktails featuring edible flowers.

It seems to be a good tie up as the Slug and Lettuce locations in York have pretty floral interiors so it only seems natural that they should launch what they are calling Slug in Bloom.

There is a non alcoholic version too, The Elderflower Zing consists of Ceder's Crisp, elderflower cordial, lime, soda and edible flowers. It might have been an unusual cold early May Day when my partner sampled this delightful offering but it felt like a hot summers day when tasting this refreshing drink.

I chose the very fruity Ketel One Botanical Smash with Peach and Orange Blossom mixed with soda and you guessed it, edible flowers. The flowers really didn't taste much and I got the impression that they were purely there for decoration.

The drinks will be available during the famous 2 for 1 offering.

Of the two York bars I would chose the York Riverside one - if you are lucky enough to get a table at the rear of the bar you can sit with a view overlooking the River Ouse.
