Celine Dion - Courage (Sony Music)
If you were waiting for a new album from Celine Dion to be sung in English you have had a long wait - 6 years to be precise. This new album is a Mix of beautiful ballads and edgy up tempo tracks.
Flying on My Own
starts off the 16 track album and on hearing the song you might think you have put the wrong CD on - the track is an electro Euro dance track that is nothing like she has done before and puts her firmly in the new decade.
Things then gradually return to her forte - the power ballad. The loss of her husband Rene Angelil weighs heavily on For The Lover That I Lost
(written by Sam Smith) and you can hear that too on I Will Be Stronger.
She turns her hand to R&B on Lovers Never Die
and then she brings up the tempo on Nobody's Watching.
The title track of the album looks to her past and her future and shows that her endurance is one of the reasons why she is as popular as ever.
At 16 tracks it is probably best heard in two parts, but if you were wondering if the wait was worth it, then your answer is a definite yes.
I give the album 3 out of 5.
