Croda International Plc, the speciality chemicals firm based in Yorkshire, has secured a Silver for Best New Ingredient at The Pure Beauty Awards UK 2025 for its naturally-derived emulsifier, Natrineo™ CR8.

The accolade celebrates innovation and excellence across the cosmetics and personal care sectors. For Croda, headquartered in Snaith, East Yorkshire, the award highlights its ongoing investment in bio-based and sustainable high-performance chemistry—a key growth area for the company and the North of England's science sector.

A Focus on Sustainable Science and Performance

Natrineo CR8 is a single-step, PEG-free emulsifier that simplifies the creation of complex water-in-oil-in-water (W/O/W) emulsions. This technical breakthrough is important for formulators as it allows them to produce premium skin care and sun care products with a luxurious, non-greasy feel using just one ingredient.

It is readily biodegradable, certified vegan/vegetarian and Halal, and supports the production of RSPO certified sustainable palm oil through the Mass Balance supply chain model.
