Dan Benn's Football Roundup
Episode 3

Hello and welcome to the third episode of the Yorkshire Times Football Roundup.

This week saw all but one of Yorkshire’s sides play at least once, with many playing twice. The only exception was Rotherham, who, at the time of recording are now looking at three straight postponed games after a Covid-19 outbreak.

Among sides who have impressed this week are Barnsley, Hull City and Harrogate Town. The first two are showing that they are real contenders for promotion from their respective leagues, whilst Harrogate are looking more and more at home in league 2, despite it being their first season in the division.

Leeds United were defeated by West Ham on Monday night in a game that will leave fans reeling thanks to some interesting VAR decisions, whilst Middlesbrough and Bradford have also seen points snatched away by the decisions of the officials, especially late on.

Sheffield Wednesday continued to struggle in the Championship, and that story was the same for Sheffield United, although the departure of Chris Wilder was unexpected by most fans. Will these sides be able to drag themselves to safety, or are they as doomed as they seem?
