El Gato Negro In Leeds Gets Ready To Re-open In May

El Gato restaurant on Park Row in the centre of Leeds is gearing up for re-opening in Leeds on 17th May.

Reservations are available for parties of up to six when dining, with tables allocated for 1.5 hours. Advance booking is advised.

Those missing the restaurant and keen to embrace a little spring sunshine along with their small plates are advised to keep a close eye on developments, with plans for an alfresco offer from April 12th possible too.

Speaking on news of the government’s roadmap and plans to reopen hospitality, Simon Shaw, Chef Patron and Creative Director said:

“It’s great news and what we’ve all been waiting for.

“It’s been a difficult time, there are moments when we’ve definitely been tested, but we were confident we’d come through it and I’m really pleased that we have.

"Our focus now is on getting back to doing what we do best and welcoming guests back to El Gato Negro. If last August is anything to go by, I’m hopeful for a good recovery; demand for reservations was strong.

"If we can just order a repeat of last year’s weather too that will be the icing on the cake.”

El Gato Negro will reopen from May 17th with a full menu in place and normal hours of service. Guests looking for further information should visit: https://www.elgatonegrotapas.com/.

It’s the second time this year that Shaw and the team at El Gato Negro have had cause to celebrate with neighbouring restaurant El Gato Negro, King St, Manchester, awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand for the fifth year running.

It looks like the cat is back!
