Foraging For Truffles In Italy
Guests at three Italian hotels have a unique opportunity to take part in one of the country’s most prestigious traditions…..truffle hunting!
Fonteverde, bagni di Pisa and Grotta Giusti, all part of the Italian Hospitality Collection, have come up with the unique way of showing guests their neighbouring Tuscan countryside between now and December.
Tuscany is well-known for having an environment conducive to growing the elusive white truffle and the surrounding areas are particularly rich in the sought-after ingredient.
Truffle hunts for visitors are organised together with an expert and authorised English speaking truffle hunter and his well-trained dog.
During the expedition guests will be given a complete explanation of what truffles are, how they reproduce and what their ideal habitat is.
After a morning foraging the woods, guests visiting in November can head to the market at the famous White Truffle Festival in Crete Senesi, which takes place on the 9th, 10th and 16th & 17th of November 2019 at San Giovanni d’Asso.
Guests of Bagni di Pisa and Grotta Giusti can visit the White Truffle Festival of San Miniato, which is held on the same dates as well as November 23rd and 24th.
Nightly rates at Grotta Giusti start from €148 (£132*) per person per night in a Comfort room on a B&B basis. For further information email@example.com
