From orchestrated dances and the rise of forest and barn wedding destinations, weddings have come a long way for millennials.

And in a new survey carried out by Guides for Brides, it has been revealed that two thirds of Gen Z respondents believe the millennial wedding aesthetic is cringeworthy - but a quarter (25%) have said the opposite.

Just under a third (28%) also said that the idea of sharing a choreographed first dance with their newly wedded partner in front of their friends and family would cringe them out.

However, over two fifths disagree, as 44% state they would still participate in a first dance - and a quarter reveal that it would depend on the song choice.

When it comes to the trends that have proven to be popular within the millennial wedding scene, almost one in six Gen Z respondents (14%) found mismatched bridesmaid dresses to be the worst.

Naked wedding cakes followed behind in second place (13%), while 1 in 10 voted for doughnut walls. After many bridal and groom parties jumped on the trend of choreographed dance routines, 12% of voters revealed this was the cringiest trend to emerge.
