Guernsey Announces Flower Power Retro Bash!
Winkle pickers and floral shirts will take centre stage later this month as VisitGuernsey stages a new three-day event showcasing 1950s and 1960s lifestyle and culture.

And you can get there from Leeds Bradford Airport courtesy of Aurigny Airlines or fly with Channel Islands Direct out of Manchester to take advantage of a two night deal.

The Guernsey Retro Festival takes Sept 27-29 with a weekend of entertainment and nostalgia featuring classic motorcycles, cars, music and fashion from the two iconic eras.

It is being held in association with Sure and is also supported by Specsavers. There will be performances by local groups with plans for flash-mob-style dancing throughout the weekend.

Event details:
Opening reception of the Retro Festival | Friday 27th September

The event begins with a glamorous Vin D’Honneur in St. Peter Port to officially launch the festival with the evening event being held in the Guernsey Market Building, with Guests of Honour Guernsey’s Lieutenant Governor, Vice Admiral Sir Ian Corder, and his wife, Lady Corder. Guests can enjoy the melodic sounds from a local jazz band while strolling around classic vehicles on display.

Retro family day - The Governor’s House | Saturday 28th September
The morning starts with a rideout tour around a selection of Guernsey’s picturesque locations. Following the morning activities, The Governor’s House is hosting a family day out including market stalls, family competitions, a revival tennis match and afternoon tea. Classic cars, old-fashioned motorcycles and military vehicles will also be on display.

Family day on North Beach with classic cars and Mods “n” Rockers Theme | Sunday 29th September
Family activities and competitions will be happening throughout the day at the island’s North Beach.
