Halloween Fun At South Yorkshire Nature Reserve

RSPB Old Moor nature reserve near Barnsley is inviting families to join in with a half term filled with Nature Discovery.
On Friday 25 October and Friday 1 November they are top and tailing the Autumn half term with the “Beasts Before Bedtime” fancy dress party. A torch-lit walk around the reserve will have families discovering the amazing creatures that emerge after dark. Each evening will be rounded off with hot chocolate and marsh mallows around the camp fire.
From Saturday 26 October and throughout the holiday, visitors can take part in the “Creature Quest”. Follow the trail to meet magical creatures and wildlife on the way to retrieve treasure from the dragon's den.
On 30 October Wild Wednesday returns with Halloween themed games and activities. Wild Explorers can Join in with a morning or afternoon session of potion making, boggart finding and spider hunting.
Visitor Experience Manager Danielle Meyer said; “There is so much folklore around our natural world that really comes into its own at this time of year. Here at Old Moor is an excellent place to discover the real-life plants and animals that these stories are based on.”
As it’s the half term holiday, 1 November is Free Friday, children get free entry on to the reserve when accompanied with an adult.
