Hannah And Little Alf Launch New Family Trail

Wow! What a week. Little Alf and I have been busy launching our latest project! ‘The Little Alf Trail around the Yorkshire Dales', a family fun adventure and a wonderful way to explore Yorkshire’s hidden secrets.

This week we have had lots of fun with the local press, which meant us walking around the local area and having lots of images taken. Alfie wasn’t very impressed when he had to walk 2 miles up the road from our home just to take a photograph. On the way home he sighed all the way back! I felt so guilty for making him walk so far, yet in the fields he spends the full day running around and causing mischief.

Over the past 6 months I have been working on the new ‘Little Alf Trail’. I first got the idea last summer after opening the first Little Alf shop in Leyburn Market town, which has been a brilliant success.

I love the local area and in the Yorkshire Dales there is so much to explore and so much going on, from natural beauty to small and big working businesses. The Yorkshire Dales is a huge tourism area, with lots of visitors coming each year. I thought it would be great to create something for families to do when they visit and after much discussion with Little Alf he thought it was a great idea too.

The brand-new trail takes visitors around Little Alf’s favourite places, including waterfalls, historic castles, gift and craft shops and of course stops at local cafes. I’ve been lucky and had the fantastic opportunity to work with lots of local businesses which are offering discounts on route as part of the Little Alf package.

The first trail we are launching is the ‘Wensleydale Trail’ which starts from the Little Alf shop in Leyburn Market town and follows the river Ure through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, travelling down the south side of the valley and returning on the north side. The trail is a 35-mile circular drive, so we recommend a full day, allowing you have plenty of time to visit Little Alf’s favourite places.

The official launch of the Little Alf Trail is Saturday 31st March 2018 at the Little Alf shop in Leyburn Market town – 10:00am – 4:00pm. Shop address – Little Alf, 1 Golden Lions Yard, Leyburn, North Yorkshire, DL8 5AS.

We can’t wait to launch the new trail and see what everyone thinks to Alf’s adventure around the Yorkshire Dales…
