'Happenings'

What began as a reflective, thought for the day opportunity for schools and colleges is gradually becoming a fixture in staff rooms, offices and businesses across the area.

Peter Thomas and his ‘Happenings’ programme is opening up the area of wellbeing, reflection and spirituality in and around North Yorkshire with other interest coming from further afield.

Happenings is a series of thirty cards with practical applications to encourage people to think through and discuss issues of the day. Arranged around a picture, Peter guides people through some thoughts and reflections.

Staff, head-teachers and students seem to greatly appreciate the creativity and support that he gives “the energy of his delivery and inspiration are fantastic, he is always well received,” comment many different schools in both the primary and secondary sector where Peter visits.

Over the past few months he has extended the work into staff training and supporting businesses as they listen more attentively to their workforce and colleagues.

In a hectic world of deadlines, appointments and social media pressure, Peter offers an opportunity to think things through, pause and reflect a moment using everyday illustrations and some personal stories. He also draws upon a rich experience of over twenty-five years as a Church minister.

Peter has a wonderful sense of community and bringing people together, having been the minister of Grassington Congregational church for the past sixteen years, former chair of the town’s Festival and a weekly presence in over twenty schools across the area.

Always open to new opportunities Peter runs workshops, RE days and sessions for the children, young people and adults.
